How to: train practitioners to conduct workshops, develop online workshops, maintain and support local public ACT groups, provide numerous free online resources to ACBS members

Mission Statement

Our mission is to pool resources from ACT practitioners and researchers all over the planet to provide an online resource,
free to ACBS members, that
a)  enables an ACT practitioner to put together, run, and evaluate the impact of public workshops and other learning experiences
b) helps ACT practitioners assess and improve their competence in running/facilitating such trainings
c) fosters further research and development of public workshops and learning experiences in ACT, RFT, and related areas
d) provides structure and tools for public ACT groups to continue to foster well being among participants after the workshops/courses have finished – with or without ACT practitioners to help them 
e) provides methods for public ACT groups to network, support each other, learn, and to foster further development.

  • Setting up a website for ACT for the Public which could provide:

- Free resources
- Free MP3 exercises
- Access to a monthly/quarterly newsletter on ACT for the public
- Access to measures to check ongoing progress with regard to psychological flexibility
- Access to research that shows the efficacy of ACT in the public arena
- Access to articles on ACT in public media
- Links to ACT for the Public social media
- Links to the ongoing ACT for Public Listserv
- List of ACT Practitioners that provide workshops and groups for the Public
- Calendar with upcoming events for ACT for the Public around the world
- Provide a Public-friendly overview on the research supporting ACT, RFT & CBS.
- An online radio show on ACT for the Public where various ACT practitioners who do his work could take a 1-2 hour slot every once in a while to talk to members of the public about ACT.
- Opportunities for ACT Practitioners to pool together to write articles of a public interest to be submitted to multiple publications around the world
